Side effects really kick in

Hello all, we are now in the middle of the time between the second and third chemotherapy sessions, and if we were in any doubt that being poisoned for the good of your health and future wellbeing had some disguisting side effects, then this week has brought it all home, painfully.

To say that Leslie is coping well is an understatement, she is just fantastic. But this steadfast and stoic approach can not get close to the horrible, and i mean truly horrible side effects that have now assaulted her.

I can not pussy foot around them, and this won’t make pleasant reading, but Leslie is now stricken with huge bouts of diarrhea and vomiting.  These can last for as long as an hour and unfortunately can occur at the same time.

It is sickening watching, and so helpless too, all i can do is rub her back, provide water and just be there. Horrible, truly horrible.

The tablets she has to take haven’t stopped it and sometimes make it worse.

We have up to 4 more sessions to go, and with Leslie’s sleep really in cookoo land i am not sure how much more of this she can reasonably expect to bare.  I do know one thing though, if Leslie decides to go through with it all, she will make it out the other end, trust me on this. i shall be there at the other end too.

That’s all for now, Leslie is sleeping off her latest bout of toilet sitting………
